9 weeks...Eek!

Finished up 9 weeks of pregnancy and feeling a little better. Still having nausea most of the day and having to throw up a couple days a week. Still feeling pretty tired overall. New symptoms this week: I've finally developed that disgusting taste in my mouth. I've read others have experienced this during their pregnancy but I never really understood what they were talking about. Oh boy, now I do. And let me tell you, it is gross. If only brushing my teeth didn't trigger my gag reflex and lead to vomiting, I would brush my teeth 10 times a day! Also a new development this week: acne. Ah, my old friend. Honestly though, I really find myself not caring. I have had acne my whole life and now its coming back with a vengeance but by the time I finish worrying about how I'm feeling, what I'm eating, and everything else in life, a few pimples really don't bother me! Also, I've started to become super emotional. If there is a remotely sad commercial on TV or song on the radio, I'm probably crying. It is annoying! Lol oh well. Hopefully my hormones will regulate and get this in check.

I've started obsessing over TLC shows about babies (much the same way I obsessed over wedding shows just a few years ago...but I digress). So those shows make me bust up crying every. single. time! Man, I feel like a pathetic pregnant lady when that happens. A hilarious thing happened the other day though! I was watching A Baby Story, on TLC where they follow a mom in the last months of her pregnancy and then through her labor. Well, Steve was around when I was watching it and sat down to talk to me right before the labor part (and believe me, they show it!). Well, when the baby came out, Steve, was hilarious! This is literally what he said:

"Oh my god! That is so weird!"

"Its like in the movie Alien."

"Oh man, that sucks for you!"

LOOOOL Thanks honey! Such a supportive husband I have! Well apparently he had never seen a video birth before, like never. So I guess that's not such a horrible reaction. It just cracked me up! Too funny.

Here's what the baby is looking like this week:
He's been a busy little guy, developing the four chambers of his heart and the valves to pump blood to the rest of his little body. He's only about the size of a grape!

So in other 9 week news, we had a party for my Dad this weekend and decided it was a good time to tell our family. Everyone was so excited and supportive! It makes me feel so great that our family is excited and happy for us. Its a scary thing, and its great to know we have so much support!

Exciting Moment of the Week: Definitely seeing the reactions on the faces of our family when we told them. It is the best feeling to have people be so excited and happy for you. Oh and my mom freaked out when I showed her that we cleaned out our extra bedroom to make it the nursery. There isn't even one baby thing in there and she still freaked out. Too cute :)

What I am Missing this Week: Caffeine! Man, I am so tired in the mornings and some coffee with cream would really do the trick pretty please. I have been pretty good about not drinking caffeine this entire time except for 1 tea. I did have some Diet Coke this weekend at the party and man, it tasted so good. But its bad for the baby so we will not be having any more of that!

Symptoms this Week: Aside from the fatigue, tummy ache, feeling bloated, nausea and yucky taste in the mouth, and some constipation...I'm feeling great! LOL no really this week I have been feeling much better. I finally have started to kick that sinus/cold whatever the heck it was and that is helping a lot.

Obsessions this Week: Reading about baby stuff. I have been doing some research and find some books I want to read so I'm waiting for those to come in. I've finished the Girlfriends Guide to Pregnancy and while it was hilarious and totally made me crack up, I'm looking for some more "scientific" advice..Lol

Message to the Baby: Baby, we are so excited to meet you and found some other people who might be just as excited! You are going to have so much family love when you are born its not going to be funny! So lucky, already!

Indy Trip!

This past weekend, despite being sick and prego, we took a roadtrip to Indianapolis to see the Colts play the Giants. My husband is a HUGE football fan and more than that, a HUGE HUGE Peyton Manning fan. So for his 30th birthday this year, I surprised him with tickets to the football game. It was a big important game because it was the home opener for the Colts and Peyton would be going against his little brother, Eli (the QB of the Giants). Needless to say, Steve was pretty excited. Here's what he looked like when I gave him the tickets.

He was so excited. Pretty cute! :)

Here he is practicing for the game just in case Peyton needs him. LOL

So this weekend we made the trip. Indy is pretty close to St. Louis, only 4 hours on mapquest or 3 hours if Steve is driving....

So we set off on Saturday morning. The game wasn't until Sunday night but we thought we would hang out in Indy for the weekend and check out this city. Here's Steve practicing his safe driving skills....

Here we are passing into Indiana. We really got there in no time at all. I only had to ask him to stop about 2 times to pee. That's pretty good for a sick pregnant lady if you ask me.

I barely caught a glimpse of the sign as we zoomed by..LOL

We used Priceline to get a really great hotel room for super cheap. So that was nice. This was actually in the lobby of our hotel. We stayed at a Marriott downtown about a half mile from the stadium. It was great.
On Sunday we had planned to go to the Indianapolis Zoo but the weather was calling for rain all day and with a $15 entry fee we thought that was a no go. Maybe another time. But we did stumble on the Indy Irish Festival a few blocks from our hotel so we thought we'd check that out.

It was pretty cool. They had some Irish Musicians.

And authentic (I guess) Irish food. It was really weird, although we did try the blackberry cobbler which was awesome. Even Steve wouldn't eat this thing:

And, of course, lots of Irish beer, which made Stevie very happy. :)

I even wore green! (on accident, I mean I planned it :)

So later that night it was time to get ready for the big game!!
Steve was super excited. It was so worth it to see him so happy!

Our hotel was so close we walked to the stadium.

Our seats were super close too...ha ha NOT! They were so expensive. Close seats were about $500 each! Crazy. But Steve did go stand by the field. Look how close he is to Peyton!! So exciting!
It was an awesome game. The stadium is super nice. The fans were so nice too. This one guy in front of us kept giving us high fives LOL. Everyone was very pumped up. It was so loud in there! It was crazy! The Colts played awesome and won!! We had a great time!!
