Steven at 16 Months

It's crazy to think you are 16 months already, Steven! Everyone thinks you are older though. You're so independent and can do so much, people often think you are 2! Its nuts! This month you are loving climbing on everything, playing and running outside, singing songs and anything electronic! You started trying to climb the very end of last month and you mastered that skill in no time! You can climb on the couch, window seat, chairs, everything!! You even taught yourself to climb up on your little slide outside and sit down then go down the slide all by yourself! It's crazy. You taught yourself to climb up the little concrete steps we have in the backyard by holding onto the side of the house. You are so big! You just love climbing and exploring everything you can find!

The helpful stage has definitely continued this month. We started putting you up on a chair in the kitchen to have you "help" mommy cook. That has resulted in some pretty interesting things, big messes and a lot of laughs!! You also love to stand on a chair and help with the dishes. You love playing in the water!

You are very interested in anything electronic this month too. We play some you tube videos for you on my kindle and you love that. You also started watching movies at Grandma's and like to do that a lot. You have a dance you do to the muppet movie and its so cute. As soon as we walk in the door of Grandma's you run and grab the remote and point it at the TV! ha ha! We play a Thomas the Train video for you some times at our house and you love that too. You are also very into mommy's Iphone this month and all the kiddo apps she has on there. Somehow you always manage to get to the "do you want to confirm this purchase" screen when she isn't looking....

You're really learned a lot of song this month and can sing (kind of) and do the motions to the Itsy Bitsy Spider, Wheel son the Bus, If You're Happy and You Know It. It's super cute! I always sing you Twinkle Twinkle at bedtime and you love to try to "sing" along with it. Mostly you say "star star star" but its super cute. At night I sing you 3 songs to put you to bed. This month you started singing along with me to "twinkle twinkle" and its SO cute. You have the sweetest little voice and you emphasize the words you know. STAR! ha ha!

You're super sweet personality has continued this month. You love to make everyone laugh and you are such a ham. If a group of adults are standing around talking you will run up to them and laugh like you are in on the joke! hilarious! You started giving two pats on the back for hugs now. Its pretty adorable. You still give good kisses and cuddles! You have learned to blow kisses too! Which you love when people ask you to do and blow you one back.

This month you've added more words to your ever-growing vocabulary  You can say Grandma, Zora, moon, and stuck pretty clearly now.

You're independent streak is continuing too. Sometimes you will request to wear your hat at random times. You always want to pick out your shoes for the day and sometimes try to wear two different pairs! You also love to help pull up your pants after diaper changes. Mr Independent!

You've been practicing your walking backwards at random times this month. Its so funny. We call it your "moon walk". You'll just start walking backwards. You're pretty good at it too!

We went to the Affton Days Parade with Julie and Jake this month. You thought it was pretty cool but you wanted to run in the street so that was frustrating for you. You did experience your first bounce house and loved it!
